Under the Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award 2020 (MA000063), the minimum shift engagement for a casual is 3 hours per shift (meaning if they work less than 3 hours, they’re still paid 3 hours). Fair Work Awards
There’s one main exception: if a casual is solely engaged to transport school children to and from school, the minimum is 2 hours per engagement (and they can be rostered for one or two engagements per day).
